Fusing the sophistication of MINIMALIST modern design with a rebellious edge,
my work is a reflection of my vision and lifestyle.

A VEGAN LIFESTYLE, FASHION, aND BEAUTY brand
WITH A SOPHISTICATED EDGE.

Black Velvet is a luxury vegan fashion lifestyle brand I started to share and sell my custom, hand-made, one-of-a-kind artwork and accessories. As a professional freelance Creative Director (bauxstudios.com), I've worked with well-known fashion brands and agencies and I'm constantly designing and creating marketing material that tells a story in a visually compelling way to sell an idea, service or product. My artwork on this site allows me to connect to my audience in a different manner which is much more personal to me. Read more about Black Velvet's direction in my blog post: The V Word: Vision.Values.Vegan.

Style & Quality

I have complete freedom to incorporate my bold, monochromatic style into my designs. I love the simplicity of black and white and always believe that less is most definitely more. There is something seductive and mysterious about simplicity and what is left unsaid. We live in a beautiful world full of color, so what I find that stands out is not the vibrant but the understated. Fusing the sophistication of minimalist modern design with a rebellious edge, my work is a reflection of my vision and lifestyle. I imagine what I would like to see on my studio walls, what inspires me, what I would like to wear, how I would accessorize my everyday life.

"Everyone has a dark side they sometimes try to hide...I guess that makes it more attractive"
— Alexander McQueen

“Women think of all colors except the absence of color. I have said that black has it all.
White too. Their beauty is absolute. It is the perfect harmony.”
Coco Chanel

I love black because it affirms, designs and styles. A woman in a black dress is a pencil stroke.

All of my work is 100% handmade and never mass produced — items are made in limited quantities. I've always enjoyed creating things by hand.  I'm very meticulous with my craft and can spend hours on one piece to make sure it is just right. This intimate process makes each piece special to me. As much as I strive for perfection, no piece is ever perfect and I like that each piece of work has characteristics that are unique.
